Fashun Guide: How To Dress For A Night Out Of Debauchery (no rly)
Because let’s admit it, sometimes it feels damn good to be sexy for a good night out of debauched partying, dancing, and/or alcohol.
Okay, so obviously everyone’s idea of sexy is different, so this is mine. This is not so much about how other people would find you sexy, but more about how dressing up can make you feel sexy (and maybe even land you that cute admirer… or at least a drink or two). Admittedly, certain things seem to be sure-fire hits that attract more attention than others.
The Most Important Rules:
1. Good fabric material. I cannot stress this enough. Whatever you wear, it has to be something that makes you sigh with pleasure when you slip it on and let the fabric caress your body. Silk is the sexiest material you can wear. It flows around your body, cool and soft and feels amazing against your skin, accentuating your curves.
You feel good wearing it, and I assure you, the person who’s touching you through that layer of silk wouldn’t be able to get enough of it. It feels really good, touching hot skin under silk. There’s this feeling of fragility mixed with a hint of provocative sensuality. Okay, so the downside is it gets damaged easily and it probably isn’t a good idea to wear a nice silk dress to a raucous party where everyone’s spilling beer on you, but you get the idea. Wear something that feels good against your skin, light and flowing. Chiffon is good, too.
2. Less is not more. Don’t skimp on the fabric, please. Bare skin is not all that interesting, nudity is the most boring thing next to honesty, etc. What’s seductive is a glimpse here and there, keeping it all smoke and veils.
3. Do not wear clunky things or clothes with too many accessories. You don’t want those to dig into your skin or your partner’s stomach when you’re getting all up close and personal with each other.
Top:
My sure-fire hit is a sheer button-down shirt. Simple, but incredibly sexy. Just simply wear it over a black lace bra. Or something lace underneath. Again, pick a shirt with a fabric that feels gorgeous against skin. The thing is, the party/bar/club/whatever you go to, the lighting is going to be pretty sketchy, and a sheer shirt would really shine.
Bottom:
If you’re not wearing a dress, then the sexier option is a short pencil skirt. As body-hugging as possible. Should come down to about half-thigh, not too short, not too long. Sophisticated, yet sensual. Also really convenient for someone’s hand to creep up your thighs. Erm. Good for spontaneous make-out session and one-night-stands? If you’re into that kind of thing. I mean.
Stockings/Tights:
Nothing is ever sexier than sheer black tights, not even bare legs. Given the choice, always go with tights/stockings. The best option is, of course, stockings with lace garters. Important tip: invest in good-quality hosiery, silk if possible. Silk stockings feel like heaven on your legs. No, actually, it feels like sex on your legs. I can never stop touching my legs when I wear silk tights. I bet you whoever’s touching your legs would not be able to stop either. Feels good to rip off of you, too. Lingerie:
Yep, important, even if you’re not particularly looking to get lucky tonight. Pretty lingerie makes me feel spectacular when I go out. Again, it depends on your taste, but I like lots of lace and chiffon, mostly black because it’s easy to match my outfit.
Shoes:
Heels, yes, but unless you’re used to running around in 5-inch high heels, DO NOT attempt to go for a night out in towering high heels. 3.5-inch is the most you should attempt. Dancing for the whole night in killer heels is not fun. Go for an exciting splash of colour. Red is a classic.
Make-up:
As I said, lighting’s probably gonna be crap, everyone’s probably going to be drunk off their asses, so don’t hesitate to be bold with your make-up, otherwise you’re gonna look washed out. Thicken the eyeliner, be generous with the mascara, lay on your deepest red lipstick, pull out all the glitter eyeshadow, etc. If you’re not off to a corner making out with someone, at least have a good time and take lots of pictures!
…So, yes, that was a list of short tips. Most important thing: be confident, and have fun!
